Chuck Henson is an experienced trial lawyer with primary emphasis on employment litigation and commercial law matters. He worked in the Missouri Attorney General’s Office immediately prior to joining the law school in 2010. He previously worked as a Partner at Kutak Rock LLP in Denver and as Vice-President Law (Human Resources) at Adelphia Communications, where he was responsible for providing legal guidance and management of human resources issues, projects, and litigation for a corporation with 15,000 employees in 23 states.
In November 2015, Chuck was named interim vice chancellor for inclusion, diversity and equity for the University of Missouri.
In September 2022, the Missouri Bar Foundation recognized Chuck with the Spurgeon Smithson Award "For extraordinary service toward the increase and diffusion of justice in society and for dedication to the purposes of the legal profession."
In June 2023, The University of Missouri School of Law awarded Chuck the Loyd E. Roberts Memorial Prize in the Administration of Justice for his extensive outreach work in the service of justice.
Chuck received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center (1990) and his B.A. from Yale in Economics and Political Science (1987).
Chuck has taught Client Interviewing and Counseling, Lawyering, Employment Discrimination, Professional Responsibility, Pretrial Litigation, Jury Instructions, Trial Practice and Advanced Trial Practice.
